The Desert Express

Welcome aboard for the adventure of a lifetime

The route of the Desert Express, between Windhoek and Swakopmund, travels between two very extremes, the savannahs of the Khomas plateau and the beautiful dune landscapes of the Namib Desert, with the harsh landscape of the semi-desert in between. The train stops for the night, so no scenery will be missed on the route. There are two excursions or stops en-route, (1), watch a lion feed or take a game drive, and (2), take a walk in the warming sands of the great Namib Desert and enjoy the absolute silence.

Accommodation
The Desert Express has 24 air-conditioned compartments with en-suite facilities and three music channels, accommodating up to three passengers each. During the day they offer spacious seating and an excellent view of the passing landscape through a large window and in the evenings the seats fold down into comfortable beds.

new friendships with fellow explorers. Sit back and enjoy the view or admire the Namibian night skies in the Starview Coach.
