The Karoo National Park is located near the town of Beaufort West in the largest ecosystem in South Africa, the Great Karoo, dominated by the Nuweveld Mountains and rolling plains and home to a facinating diversity of animal and plant life. All internal roads are tarred.

Accommodation in the Karoo National Park
All units are serviced daily and supplied with bedding, towels and soap.
• Six-bed Cape Dutch style cottages with 2 en-suite bedrooms and fully equipped
  kitchen.
• Three-bed Cape Dutch style bungalows with bathroom (shower) and kitchenette
  with basic cooking equipment.
• Shady, grassed camping and caravan sites (220V power point), communal
  kitchen and ablution facilities. A maximum of 6 persons allowed per site with one
  vehicle and caravan or one vehicle and tent or one motorised caravan.

Facilities
Fully licensed a-la-carte restaurant, shop for basic commodities and curios, Information centre, Public telephone and picnic facilities for day visitors outside peak periods.

Recreational Facilities
Swimming pool for resident guests, 3-day Springbok hiking trail, 4x4 Karoo trail, 2 nature trails (800m and 11km), 400m Karoo Fossil Trail (accessible for handicapped persons) and a bird hide near the Rest Camp.

Gate hours: 05:00 to 22:00
Visitors with reserved accommodation who arrive after 20:00 may collect the keys to their accommodation at the entrance gate.

Full payment required 30 days before arrival

Cancellations:
• Up to 30 days before visit - full refund
• 30 to 15 days before visit - 75% refund
• 14 to 7 days before visit - 50% refund
• Less that 7 days before visit - no refund
• A R50 processing fee will be charged for cancellations.
